Nasrollah Jahangard, Chairman of the Supreme Policy Council of the fifth Kish International Technology and Communications Exhibition (KITEX), emphasized the critical need to establish businesses in Iran’s border regions amid global sanctions during a planning meeting held today. The session aimed to foster collaboration, strategize, and consolidate Iran’s fragmented technological capabilities into a unified national effort. Jahangard highlighted Kish Island’s strategic geographical location and its decades-long track record of hosting international events, making it an ideal hub for KITEX. “Launching businesses in border areas is imperative under current global sanctions. Kish, with its legal and technological infrastructure, offers a unique platform to bridge Iran’s ICT sector with regional and global markets,” he stated. Referencing nations that have navigated similar challenges under unjust sanctions, Jahangard positioned KITEX as a vital stage for Iranian companies to showcase their expertise in exporting ICT services and products. “Kish’s advanced infrastructure enables KITEX to highlight the potential of freelancers in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, gaming, and animation,” he added. The meeting saw participation from key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of ICT, Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, the Kish Free Zone Organization, Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, and the Iranian Computer Trade Organization. Attendees exchanged solutions, proposals, and concerns to ensure the event’s success.
